Michael is a technology executive with a proven track record of success in implementing transformational IT solutions. As a Founding Partner at Anoteros, Michael serves as an advisor to clients and senior leadership teams on all aspects of IT including technology strategy, data management solutions, product evaluations, and strategic sourcing.
Prior to founding Anoteros, he served as Deputy CIO for the Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY), where he was responsible for setting IT strategy and providing vision and leadership for the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems across all lines of business. Prior to VNSNY, Michael worked as a management consultant, implementing IT solutions for Fortune 500 clients across numerous industries.
Michael has served as a member of the Business Operations and IT Committee for OneCity Health, a leading Performing Provider System (PPS) under the New York State DSRIP program. He was also an official mentor for the New York Digital Health Accelerator, a program for early and growth-stage digital health companies.
After achieving a Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Michael moved with his wife Shama to NYC, to start their careers and their family. In 2008 he received an MBA from Columbia University. As a longtime fan of theater, if he hadn’t found engineering, Michael would have pursued a career as a playwright – instead, he’s thrilled to now support the performing arts as a board member of the New Light Theater Project in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood. He also loves supporting his two daughters develop their talent in the performing arts – both have studied classical Indian dance for years.
Sankar is a technology leader with more than two decades of experience in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining complex IT solutions in healthcare payer and provider organizations. He has worked across all aspects of IT and is a leading expert in large-scale care management transformations.
From an early career in application development, data analytics, and systems integration, Sankar became a recognized leader in healthcare IT. Before founding Anoteros, he was Director of IT-Business Partnerships for the Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY), one of the largest New York State Medicaid and Medicare managed care organizations. In that role, Sankar implemented several transformational IT projects that contributed to the financial turnaround of the health plan. He also led the rollout of VNSNY’s Health Information Exchange program that connected VNSNY to other payer and provider organizations in New York. With Anoteros, Sankar has led several successful GuidingCare care management platform implementations for community-based and national payers.
Sankar achieved a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Engineering from the Madurai Kamaraj University in India. He is a published author and writes fiction and non-fiction in Tamil and English. Sankar and his husband Tom split their time between New Jersey and Florida. An optimist who appreciates every opportunity, Sankar believes strongly in building relationships and in leading by serving.
Richard is a healthcare executive with over 25 years of experience in transforming operational performance into financial optimization for payers. He works with Anoteros clients to conduct strategic assessments and data-driven operations improvement projects that realize meaningful results.
Richard previously held leadership roles at UnitedHealth Group, National MedTrans Network, UnivitaHealthPlan, WellCare, McKesson, and national healthcare consulting firms. He has led greenfield and transitional initiatives in more than 30 Medicare and Medicaid state markets.
His project experience includes delivering improvements for payers on claims / electronic data interchange processing, opioid addition care models, member onboarding, pharmacy benefit management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, care management, disease management, home health, behavioral health, call center, electronic visit verification, provider contracting, fraud waste and abuse, durable medical equipment, star rating, value-based programs, non-emergency medical transportation, encounters and more.
Richard holds a Bachelor’s degree in CIS from Jacksonville University, is Project Management Institute certified, and a US Army veteran.
Richard, as a long-time sports fan and former college baseball player, if he isn’t out fishing on his boat, he is playing golf or enjoying time with his granddaughters playing UNO and Barbie or with his grandsons watching scary movies.
Dion is an avid information system and cybersecurity practitioner with 20+ years of experience solving problems, driving business outcomes, and helping communities. Dion started his journey protecting and defending enterprise systems and remained on the technical track, working across the technology, financial, life sciences, non-profit, and healthcare industries. Prior to Anoteros, Dion spearheaded multiple transformational IT projects designing and implementing secure systems, networks, and both on-premise and cloud-based data centers.
Dion obtained his Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix with a concentration in Information Systems Security and Networking Technology. He is a credentialed Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Systems Certified Security Practitioner (SCCP), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer, and a SASE Certified Network Professional.
In his personal time, Dion enjoys spending quality time with his wife and three kids, while dedicating focus time for learning, fitness, and mindfulness
Gemma joined Anoteros after a decade working with global FTSE100 companies in management consulting and a decade in executive roles at healthcare and other non-profits. As the former Chief of Staff at Brooklyn Defender Services, Chief Operating Officer at START Treatment & Recovery Centers, and VP Operations at VNSNY CHOICE, she is experienced both in healthcare provider and payer operations and all aspects of nonprofit administration.
Gemma uses her passion for operational excellence to help her clients achieve transformation across all aspects of their operating models, from strategic planning to complex implementations, and through changes in organization design, process, and technology. Gemma deeply believes that all success comes from people and centers that perspective in her work by also providing executive coaching to support leaders to grow their confidence and reach their potential.
Outside of work Gemma is usually found singing with her local community choir, stacking shelves at her neighborhood food co-op, or hiking – either in the nearby state parks or further afield: she has visited, hiked, and camped on all seven continents, and counts finishing (and surviving) the ten-day high-altitude Huayhuash trek in Peru as one of her proudest personal achievements
Deb is a versatile executive-level professional with proven expertise in developing innovative solutions, leading strategy execution, and creating alliances designed to create successful business outcomes. Deb has led several strategic initiatives in the healthcare payer space, including care management and claims systems, planning and implementing system updates to support the launch of a Medicare Part D program, and a state insurance exchange for a hospital-owned health plan. She is naturally analytical and can effectively prioritize and manage critical organizational initiatives to successful completion. In addition, she can formulate and implement an organizational vision, obtain alignment with critical goals and execute a strategy to drive high-level organizational performance. Her expertise includes government contract management and corporate leadership, and she excels at bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions in all aspects of the health insurance industry.
Mohan is an experienced technology consultant with significant experience in business analysis and project management through all stages of the IT project lifecycle. Having worked extensively with healthcare, pharmaceutical, and non-profit organizations, he possesses in-depth operational, regulatory, and functional knowledge of clinical information systems, specializing in workflow optimization, care management, utilization management, appeals and grievances, value-based performance management, and home health aide services. His holistic approach to serving clients, expert grasp of digital technologies, deep domain expertise, and can-do attitude helps our clients consistently achieve and exceed their business goals time and again.
Prior to Anoteros, Mohan was a consultant with Intone Networks where he worked with both provider and payer clients and successfully led multiple system upgrades and new electronic medical record implementations. His talent as a systems thinker was discovered at a young age when he worked in his family’s retail store and was constantly finding ways to improve things. He complemented this natural business analysis skill with a Bachelor’s in Pharmacy, Master’s in Pharmaceutical Administration, and an MBA in Information Technology.
When not mapping processes and coordinating major implementations, Mohan loves spending time with his wife, Anitha, and son, Eshaan, eating ice cream, traveling, trying different cuisines, and playing cricket.
Nancy is a Clinical Subject Matter Expert (SME) with extensive experience in managed care organizations, particularly in care and utilization management. She brings a wealth of expertise to her clients from over two decades in clinical practice as an audiologist and over eleven years in the managed care field.
After leaving clinical practice, Nancy spent seven years at Colorado Access, a non-profit health plan, where she served first as Care Manager, then Manager of the Care Management department, and then Clinical Project Manager. She built on this experience by joining Altruista Health as a Clinical SME where she successfully led several implementations of their care management platform, GuidingCare, for Medicare, Medicaid, Dual and Special Needs Plans across the United States. A mentor to new Clinical SMEs, Nancy has also been involved in healthcare policy development, regulatory accreditation preparation, provider / patient engagement, staff training, denied claims management and quality standards support (NCQA, URAC, HEDIS, STARS, CAHPS, CMS, PCMH).
Nancy has a master’s degree in Audiology and Speech Pathology from Auburn University. She lives in Colorado with her husband and enjoys spending time with their two grandchildren, sewing, watching Auburn football and basketball, playing bridge, and traveling when possible.
